USTRC Contracts Research Services with CEBS
Team Roping group seeks to learn more about its members
(College Station, Texas) -
United States Team Roping Championships (USTRC) of Stephenville, Texas, has entered into an agreement with the Center for
Equine Business Studies (CEBS) at Texas A&M University to conduct an in-depth membership and demographic survey.
The survey will be conducted on-line with results completed by November.
"This is the first survey USTRC has initiated since 2000," said USTRC marketing director John Findlay. "We learned a good deal
about our member then, but we are working to find out more about their ideas, opinions and needs as we move forward in the growth
of this sport. Having the CEBS conduct the study on our behalf, we believe, brings even more credibility to the information that
will be generated."
The USTRC, a member of the CEBS, currently boasts more than 35,000 members, as well as lists more than 100,000 rated or
classified team ropers. The survey will be conducted throughout September from among a randomly selected group of members and
former members age 18 and older.
"Conducting research through Texas A&M offers the benefit of a university-based study performed by professional economists
working in conjunction with one of the top veterinary schools and equine departments in the world." said CEBS Executive Director
Ernie Davis, PhD. "The CEBS is be able to provide companies with highly-reliable data collection and analysis at a competitive price.
In addition, companies that are members of the CEBS receive reduced rates on each project."
For businesses considering conducting a survey, the CEBS offers a comprehensive, cost effective research system that includes
questionnaire design, survey administration, and statistical analysis of the data once it is collected. Survey design follows
Dillman's Tailored Design Method, a product of years of research and intensive study. Extensive security measures protect
participant identities and responses, data is analyzed using scientific statistical analysis methods, and professionals
with an understanding of the equine industry are available to assist in the interpretation of the results.
